From: Glenfield, Auckland
Who: These Four Walls: Steve Gibb (vocals & guitar), Gray Vickers (lead axe), Chris Treeby (bass guitar) and Brad Vickers (drums)
The Scoop: This is good straight ahead Kiwi rock. The guys have taken a couple of years to get to the stage of a debut album - and that time is now.
It is called Down Falls An Empire and has been typically accompanied by a single - 'Sweet December', which has the sound of a band who are finding their groove after earlier releases such as 'Walk Away' and 'Under the Shadows' - both of which got good airplay on The Rock.
I think they're at their best when they are putting the hammer down & hope there is more of that to come from them. Check out Lilith for them at full noise.

They began pre-production earlier this year and in May began recording. Andrew Buckton (The D4, Steriogram, Midnight Youth) is credit with production. It is a good mix of driving guitars, crescendos and strong melodies.
There is a lot to like about T4W (I'm told that is the shorthand for them) including a great attitude. They have gigged over 200 times already, they are releasing the album themselves (with a distribution deal) and they are doing it their own way.
Shuffle with: Blindspott, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down
Play on: Saturday when you are going for a drive or run and are looking for something to carry you to the destination faster
