The Scoop: The sound of sexy Scandopop.

At the heart of this sound is the terrifically talented Karlsson & Winnberg who are better known as Bloodshy & Avent. They just have the knack to put together the best kind of pop as witnessed with their most high profile effort - Britney Spears's 'Toxic'.

This is smart & beautifully crafted pop of the kind that the Scandanavians seem to excel at. The vocals gently blend in with all the electronics creating what can at times be a quite mesmerising effect. There are some good lyrics & due to the singer/lyracist being American they avoid some of the cliched & quirky moments that are hard to avoid for a lot of acts from that part of the world.

As you can imagine these songs lend themselves to being remixed and there are already a lot of songs that have had the treatment from other producers and some of those are brilliant. One that I have been enjoying is the Tiga remix of 'Black & Blue' which gives that track a little more pace & a lot more bleeps - and the original version is already one of my favourites.

Others to enjoy are 'Animal', 'A Horse is Not A Home' and 'Cult Logic'.
