Jude Law claims he is “in love” with Robert Downey Jr.
The actor brushed off reports he has reconciled with ex-girlfriend Sienna Miller by insisting he only has eyes for his Sherlock Holmes co-star.
Speaking at the premiere in London’s Leicester Square last night, Jude pointed at Robert and said: “The only person I’m in love with is sitting on my left. I am here on a night out with the boys.
“The flirting started the minute we met. It was based on mutual respect and admiration.”
Meanwhile, director Guy Ritchie spoke about why he chose to cast Jude, who plays the role of sidekick Watson to Downey Jr’s Holmes.
He said: “We’ve coined the phrase Hotson. I wanted a good-looking Watson.”
Despite his pin-up status on set, Guy insisted that Jude was a calming influence on him and Robert.
He said: “He was the father to two wayward sons.”
Among the celebrities in attendance on the red carpet were stars of the film Rachel McAdams and Kelly Reilly, as well as Princes William and Harry and singer Gwen Stefani.
It has previously been claimed that Jude – who recently became a father for the fourth time following a brief fling with model Samantha Burke – and Sienna are planning to move in together again after rekindling their romance while starring in Broadway plays in New York.
