New Zealander Marina Erakovic eased through her opening round of the West Classic women's tennis tournament in California with a comfortable 6-2 6-2 victory over qualifier Jana Juricova of Slovakia.
Seeded eighth for the tournament at Stanford, Erakovic took just over an hour to account for Juricova, and will meet the winner of the Eleni Daniilidou-Urszula Radwanska match.
Ranked 49th in the world, Erakovic teams up with Britain's Heather Watson later on Wednesday in the women's doubles to play Sesil Karatantcheva (Kazakhstan) and Japan's Erika Sema.
Erakovic, beaten in the second round of singles at Wimbledon, is playing the first of two US tournaments before returning to London for the Olympics.
