New Zealand tennis ace Marina Erakovic will get a shot at the Olympics.
The New Zealand Olympic Committee confirmed Erakovic would get a spot after deciding she was worthy of going to London.
Erakovic is ranked 45 in the world, enough to give her automatic entry to the tournament but not high enough to make her a clear medal chance.
But the committee decided her good win-loss record on grass, her victories over top 16 players this year and reaching the quarterfinals of four tournaments in 2012 suggested she was worthy of a place.
Weightlifter Ritchie Patterson also had his spot in the 85kg class confirmed on Wednesday.
Patterson won a silver medal at the Delhi Commonwealth Games and is the current Commonwealth champion.
