The cartoons often depict violence, which their creator says is the reality of life inside Venezuela's prisons

Venezuela has 34 prisons, which were built to hold around 17,000 inmates.

However currently the country's prison population stands at around 50,000.

A former prisoner is now using his animation skills to tell his story.

He’s hoping to show what that level of overcrowding means for those inside.
