Time to slough away the winter blues and reveal your spring/summer goddess within!

We have been cooped up in front of heaters and fire places with big wooly jumpers on for way too long. Our skin is suffocating just like we are. It is now time to pamper ourselves with some delectable body exfoliators and exfoliators for the face.

If you are considering applying a self tan product, or just wanting to give your skin a boost, exfoliating is a crucial part of the process. Through the winter months we are more susceptible to dead skin cells building up, dry patchy skin, and eczema. By encouraging the shedding of dry skin it allows moisturising products to work more efficiently and Self Tans to work more evenly.

Many delectable, almost edible, scrubs and exfoliants line the skincare counters.

Here we bring you what we have tried lately.

For the body

Pure Fiji coconut sugar rub
457ml rrp$65
Just the smell of this makes you want to spread it on a crumpet! And there is no ingredient that you couldn’t really eat.
Available in a huge pot, which can be a bit of a nuisance to deal with in the shower, but will definitely last through a long summer, and jam packed with Macadamia, Coconut, Sikeci and Dilo nut oils to leave skin feeling luxurious while the Sugar cane does the exfoliating. Available in different fragrances such as Mango, Passionflower, Pineapple and more. Don’t go through a summer without at least one PURE FIJI product in your cabinet. Or treat someone special for Christmas. Just devine.

L'Oreal Paris Exfotonic Revitalising Gel Exfoliator
200ml rrp$28.99
Works as you would expect a gel exfoliator to work. Micro-beads help to smooth the skin and leave it feeling silky soft. Comes in a large squeezy tube which makes it easy to deal with in the shower. A decent, well priced product.

For the face

Elizabeth Arden ceramide plump perfect gentle line exfoliator
100ml rrp$57
Micro-beads do the exfoliating action which don’t feel too harsh on the skin, and other ingredients such as Hibiscus seed extract, Shea butter and Clover and Alpina Leaf extract leave it beautifully moisturized. I feel polished and have a glow after using.

Trilogy gentle facial exfoliant
75ml rrp$39.90
Trilogy is a wonderful brand of skin care for those with sensitive skin who prefer simple and pure or the Eco friendly. Made in NZ, not animal tested, and all Natural colours and Fragrances.

This exfoliator smells delicious with Rosehip, Jojoba, Camelia and active Honey enzymes and is very gentle. This will now become a staple on my bathroom shelf and for best results for my fine sensitive skin I will use 2-3 times per week.

Make sure you note the expiry dates on Trilogy products as they don’t contain preservatives.

Next week we will give you the ins and outs on the self tan products we have trialled. Stay in touch, tell your friends and add to your favourites.
