Go Wellington buses are off the road today

Expect a slow commute into the capital this morning with thousands of bus passengers forced into their own cars.

Travel plans have been thrown into chaos as an escalating dispute between GO Wellington bus drivers and their employers resulted in an indefinite lock out of 300 staff.

The company's lock out is in response to the hour-long strike during yesterday morning's rush hour.

So far, there are no major problems, however police have urged drivers to be patient with heavier than normal traffic flows into Wellington.

7% this year with a 3.5% next year, and thats is what is being offered, i got 2% this year with no indication what i MAY get next year, be grateful and get on with what you are being paid to do, if you dont like it get another job, we keep getting told it is currently an employees market. I cant help but be cynical and bet that these same people then go onto complain at the rates rise incurred in order to implement their pay claim, be careful what you wish for...
