i started the your baby can read programme when my daughter was 10months old,now at 16months old she can read(recognise)over 80words and going.i think every child has the potential to read and learn early, its not just the few children you see on t.v..i dont see it as a waste of time or money when its your child you are investing in!!if they are to atleast learn to read and understand one word before going to preschool then thats a positive thing isn't it?i fully believe that the programme works with the consistancy and involvment of the parents/caregiver!it has worked wonders for my daughter and would definitly recomend it to anyone considering it.

So babies under one year old may be missing out on valuable teaching time. Well I would say any baby with a half witted parent who thinks teaching a child that age to read may be valuable has many more scary things ahead of it in life than wasting teaching time.

Wasn't there some extremely similar claims made by an NZ couple some 14+ years back who had an allegedly "gifted" son? Supported / funded by Gordon Drysburgh or similar name I think?
