The explosion occured on the set where the Hobbit is being filmed (file)

Two people have been injured in an explosion at the set of the Hobbit film.

An explosion occurred in the Stone St studios in Miramar, Wellington, this morning. Two people were treated at the scene and have since been transported to hospital.

A small fire which followed the explosion was out before firefighters arrived at the scene.
