Cottonsoft says Greenpeace's incorrect claims damaged its brand

The Food and Grocery Council wants Greenpeace to apologise for accusing a Kiwi toilet paper manufacturer of using rainforest fibres.

Cottonsoft says independent tests have shown its products contain a mixture of hardwood and softwood species such as acacia and Douglas-fir.

It says Greenpeace’s incorrect claims damaged its brands and risks the jobs of 130 staff.

But Greenpeace says its statements were based on robust forensic testing and years of experience documenting deforestation.
