Each month, more than a billion people around the world use Facebook. That's a billion self-obsessed narcissists, if you believe a psychologist who's studied the site.

"more than a billion people around the world use Facebook" thats the number of accounts regersted with facbook only about 600 million are active i my self have a facebook account but only use it once every two weeks for basics. most of my social media usage is taken up by Google+ and Twitter witch i use to gain information i need to help shape the world in my own little way. Google+ & Titter both provide a better way to gather information and see the latest news before the main stream media see it (im talking about you 3 news) witch facebook lacks to capability to do as it's just used for friends only

Facebook is just plain dangerous, its now a global phenomenon used to monitor and in some cases control the masses. It is a tool with the capability of swaying public opinion in favour of a powerful and 'elite' few. Just look at wht is happening in places like Syria, an idea is broadcast on facebook by a few individuals and the sheeple do the rest, spreading that idea like wildfire, swaying the majority public opinion in a country where violent protest is as easy as picking up a gun. Resulting in the deaths of thousands.

I know millions love it but for the 2 weeks I had a Facebook page I got fed up of reading comments about how people felt ("feeling a bit down today" = please ask me what's wrong everyone) or what people had for tea or where they had taken their toddlers out to play that day. Then getting requests from people I hadn't seen for over 20 yrs waning to be my online friend. Maybe it's just me, but I found it all a bit creepy. Even when i tried to delete it the site pleaded with me to stay and advised me that certain friends would miss me!! I'd rather read a good book or go for a walk on the beach. But then I've never been a very sociable type....maybe me and my partner are just miserable gits :-)
