Evan Hill

Being a twelve-year-old kid can be tough at the best of times, but for Evan Hill life is really hard: He has buck teeth.

And not your average buck teeth - orthodontists say it's the worst case they've ever seen.

Evan is teased and bullied and his family can't afford the dental treatment, which could be up to $12,000.

Basic dental treatment is free for children up to the age of 18, but Evan’s would go beyond the limits of "basic".

Campbell Live has set up a bank account for anyone who would like to contribute towards the cost of fixing Evan's teeth: Westpac account, 03-0104-0924021-01 (Campbell Live Donations).

Well done Kiwis for helping him to get the help he needed. We are in a similar situation needing around $6000 for braces and broke. They say it's cosmetic - but some of my daughter's teeth are turned right around - hard to eat. This is not cosmetic. It's a shame it costs this much. Evan you are a lovely boy and I'm glad it all worked out for you. Take care to you and your family.

Hi I told people on our FB pages I would match whatever everyone donated. They would have marked it with CGs or Folden, please left me know what I owe. Cheers

This sucks when MP's get a pay rise of $7k for doing a average job and the taxes I contribute don't go to someone that actually needs help. Anyways I have put a small contribution in, I wish I could donate more. I challenge the fat cat MP's to do the same. All the best Evan, I am sure the NZ public will rally to get this sorted. Have a great xmas!

Hi Evan, Keep your smile and be strong Bullies will get what's coming to them. I had buck teeth like your's and I had to get Braces,My eye teeth were sharp they had to shape them. I had bad teeth at your age I had a accident on my bike many years ago and lost my 2 front teeth I have a plate now. To Evans parents I know the New Zealand health system is shocking what it needs is a group to lobby the Governments Health system to get better system in place. Stay strong and keep on smiles. Have a good Christmas and a happy new year.
