Fashion Week 2012 is almost over as we enter the final day of the trade show.
Co-founder of Hong Kong’s premier fashion blog Butterboom.com, Pannee Ng, joins Kate Rodger and Metro magazine fashion editor Rebecca Wadey to dissect all the highlights from day three of fashion week and reflect on their personal highlights.
This is Pannee’s first NZ Fashion Week, which she describes as a “three-day crash course in New Zealand fashion”.
“It has been good for me to discover all this New Zealand talent.”
Pannee, looking stunning in a Cybele owl print top, lists the Kiwi designer as one of her favourites.
“I think she has a very distinctive look about her designs. You can really tell, ‘Oh, that’s Cybele’. If you want to go international, you need to have a ‘look’,” she says.
“I think she’s got her structure pieces. Black and white is easy to wear.
“The materials are great.”
Rebecca agrees, saying Cybele’s show would also be in her top five favourites from the week.
“I feel like she really progressed,” she says.
“It was really exciting to watch that on the catwalk.”
So what are we seeing for AW2013?
“I think one of the strongest trends I’ve seen is a sort of 90s, grungey kind of vibe. Lots of beanies, slouchy oversized silhouettes.
“You’re seeing lots of platform shapes,” says Rebecca.
“I think leather,” says Pannee. “Leather is going to be big. I also think the colours orange, yellow are going to be big colours – and cobalt blue.”
Plus, who wont the Fashion Front Row goodie bag and tickets to Sunday’s Weddings show?
