A father and son who were deliberately hit by a car and reversed over at a party in north Auckland are refusing to cooperate with police.

Police were called to a rowdy party on Brent Place in Manurewa just before 5am on Saturday where they found the two men lying on the ground.

"The victims were quite abusive and hostile to police when we turned up, and to ambulance as well," Senior Sergeant Ian Brenchley told NZN on Sunday.

"Because of that police haven't been able to establish what went on."

The two men were taken to Middlemore Hospital where the father remains in a critical but stable condition and his son is stable.

If they were abusive to ambulance staff they should of left them on the side of the road. We don't need these sort of people contributing to the gene pool.

Well a word to the wise for the police don't waste your time on them.

Well if there not willing to cooperate with Police then there's no complaint... simple. As for abusing the ambulance staff who are trying to render medical assistance... just leave em... there are certainly more appreciative people out in society when they need medical assistance.
