Fed Ex or Fed Up?

Doing a fair bit of surfing, and desperately trying to spend $$ on wedding related products this week (of course!).

But I keep getting hit by a very big very rude STOP sign and no, it’s not the FH this time ;)

It ‘s been put in place by a lot of future forward, technologically advanced, (supposedly) on-to-it, BIG NAME companies… WHO DO NOT SHIP TO NEW ZEALAND.
 
 

Hell most of them don’t even ship outside of the US!

What is that all about? Don’t they realise there is a lot of world out there… exciting places and people who would like to GIVE YOU THEIR MONEY? I honestly don’t understand it, and it is making my life very difficult at the moment. Causing me to waste even MORE hours that I don’t really have trawling the net to find the next company who can send me what I want, only to find out that they also don’t ship to NZ.

Hellooooooo world remember us? The little wee country at the bottom of the world… who brought you such things as the women’s right to vote, the All Blacks, The Lord of the Rings, Sheeeeep!?!?

Yet even though we’ve been making our mark on the world for AAAAGES we are still out of most shipping zones and are still yet to be seen on some maps…



Honestly, no Photoshop here!

So I’ll just go back to drooling over the stuff we need (read: want) and ponder about how to get it. Actually that’s pretty much the story of my life.

Carrie, I for one am grateful so many places don't ship to NZ, my online shopping addiction is bad enough already!

Did I tell you I actually have my own importers code for customs now because of how much I was buying?!

@ Andy. Thanks for you comments! I'm in no way poking fun at Fed Ex, they aren't even a shipping option from the places i'm trying to order from. But the pun was too good too pass up for my 'title' Nothing more than that- no beef with Fed Ex ;)

@ Burt UPS is super super expensive!! Especially when we then get hit with various Customs Taxes this end :(

Ummm... FedEx ships to NZ... Just not necessarily overnight. Certainly there are product suppliers that you may be trying to purchase from that have not set themselves up for international shipping... But FedEx certainly goes there! Keep in mind that many companies with big web presences are based in the US. You may be better off trying to find a supplier in the Pacific Rim somewhere. Most US businesses, small ones, certainly, won't export stuff as it's too much of a hassle. You must remember that we in the US are used to having things shipped in to us - we ARE a consumer society after all. Just remember, it's not FedEx's fault in this case, because they get there!
