The world’s most famous penguin is in recovery at Wellington Zoo.

You can watch him sleep, scratch, build an ice nest, stand up, roll over, poop and sleep some more – all day and night on a webcam feed.

But it's the eating he needs to do more of, and it's a very specific fish diet.

Philanthropist Gareth Morgan is launching a project to get Kiwi kids supplying fish to Happy Feet. He also explains his other penguin projects.

Whena Owen caught up with Gareth Morgan and his penguin-mad granddaughter.

I love watching Happy feet every day. It's just lovely. Does he stay in that room all day, or is he able to swim outdoors sometimes. I wish I was in WGTN so I could come see him. It is wonderful you set a web cam up for us to see the penguin. Thank you
