The impact of the plane crash sent debris flying across Timona Park in Feilding

Police have named the two victims of yesterday’s plane crash in Feilding.

They are Dr Ralph Saxe and Dr Brett Ireland.

Police says Dr Saxe lived in Palmerston North with his family.

Dr Ireland previously lived in the Manawatu but has been living in Queensland, Australia, with his family for a number of years.

Feilding plane made 'strange noise' before crash - witness  

The plane had only been in the sky for around 25 minutes before it crashed. It took off from nearby Taonui Aerodrome.

The impact of the crash sent debris flying across Timona Park and left the cockpit and engine of the plane in a mangled heap.
