Police have confirmed three unexplained deaths - two men and a woman - at a cordoned-off house in Fielding.

It is believed two of the deceased were a couple, and the third an elderly man.

Police were called to the property at 10:20am by someone who was concerned for the welfare of the occupants.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan said: "It is still early days so we have to keep an open mind, but following an initial assessment we do not believe that we are looking for anyone else in relation to these deaths. The house will be subject to a thorough scene examination and this is likely to take some days. This process will include the removal of the bodies of the three deceased for post mortem examinations to be carried out."

Police confirmed this afternoon the house is on Lees Rd. They are not seeking anyone else in relation to the case, and do not believe the public is in danger.

The bodies are not related to the death of Feilding farmer Scott Guy.

"The examination of the scene is likely to take some days and we will not be making any comment or speculating on cause of death until post mortem examinations have been carried out,' says Det Snr Sgt Craig Sheridan.

I understand that the Feilding community will be very upset but I would like to assure them that whilst this is a tragedy I am confident that there is no risk to the community."

Feilding has been struck by tragedy recently with the death of Mr Guy, Lt Tim O'Donnell and two deaths in a plane crash occurring in a short space of time.
