New Zealand No.1 Marina Erakovic has eased through the opening round of the WTA women's tennis tournament in Bogota, Colombia.
In her first tournament since making the second round of the Australian Open last month, Erakovic looked comfortable in downing Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele 6-3 6-4.
Ranked No.1 for the Bogota tournament and 56th in the world, Erakovic won the rain-interrupted match on red clay at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento to set up a second-round match against Romania's unseeded Edina Gallovits-Hall on Friday (NZT).
