A sharp downpour has resulted in flash flooding in a south Auckland suburb, causing delays for drivers.
A thunderstorm about 4.50pm on Thursday resulted in a deluge for Papakura, on the southern outskirts of metropolitan Auckland, particularly in the Dominion Rd, Sheehan Ave and Red Hill Rd area.
Police said it appeared several houses had been flooded, though the Fire Service said it hadn't been told of property flooding and that roads and manhole plates lifting were the main problems.
Disruption to traffic is expected.
