Flight of the Conchords announce one more show

It's been three years since Flight of the Conchords toured New Zealand, but absence has only made their fans hearts grow fonder.

Ticket sales have almost reached 50,000 - demand which has led to an extra show on the June 30 at Auckland’s Vector Arena.

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie say they feel flattered by the frenzy of fans who queued for hours for the comedy duo's first New Zealand shows in three years

“I feel pity for them,” Clement says. “I admire them, admiration.”

“It looked very cold in Christchurch in particular,” McKenzie says.

“There was one couple in Hastings who queued up and they had their ten month old baby with them, which seemed irresponsible, but committed.”

“But thanks for coming,” Clement says.

Since breaking through with their phenomenally successful television series, their careers have gone from strength to strength - whether working together or apart.

McKenzie won an Oscar earlier this year for writing a song for The Muppets Movie, and Clement recently starred in Men in Black 3.

Despite a good natured rivalry - they both enjoy the recognition fame has brought them - although they wish their fans were a little less modest

“People sometimes stop for us to take photos with them,” McKenzie says.

“Sometimes they get us to sign their boobs…no they don't get us to sign their boobs.”

“But they can...they're welcome to do that if they want,” Clement says.

But with 14 of their 15 New Zealand shows sold out that could be a lot of chests to sign.

Tickets to the June 30 concert go on sale at 9am tomorrow at ticketmaster.co.nz.

Those close-ups of Jemaine are amazing. He is so beautiful it's unreal...oh yes--and he's a comic genius, of course.
