Former TV star and politician Pam Corkery has been linked to plans to open New Zealand’s first brothel for women.
The ex Alliance MP is believed to be looking for an Auckland property for the cathouse where the sex workers will be male and the clients female, The New Zealand Herald reported.
Publicist Paul Ellis said he had met Ms Corkery to discuss her business plan and said she want it “to be shot as a TV project”.
“It's not my place to comment. It was one of myriad things. She's doing a whole raft of things,” he said. “One of the great things about Pam is she's got so much energy.”
The reality television show would be about the hiring of the male sex workers.
Annah Pickering of the New Zealand Prostitute’s Collective said if the brothel went ahead, it would be the first of its kind.
“The male sex workers working out of the male escort agencies we have now serve both male and female clients,” she said.
Ms Pickering says the clientele would probably be “cougars”.
