Still from Four Lions

Still from Four Lions

Reviewed by Kate Rodger

Choosing to make comedy out of terrorism is a risky business, and it’s really important you go into Four Lions secure in the knowledge the intention is farce and satire.

The story revolves around a group of budding wannabe suicide-bomber jihadists living in Sheffield with barely a brain-cell between them.

They decide to blow up the London Marathon, where the ridiculously silly final act plays down.

The humour is of the Monty Python-like variety, clever and inane at the same time, and no question, I found it incredibly funny.

Four stars.
