Four teenagers have been rescued from near the Otaki River on the Kapiti Coast after getting into trouble.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter was deployed on Friday evening to search for the four teens, aged 18 and 19, after the fifth member of the group was able to tube out and raise the alarm.
The group was on a two-day tramping and tubing trip when they got into trouble.
The rescue helicopter arrived in the area about 7pm.
Three of the missing males were found on the river bank about 2.5km from the Otaki Forks picnic area.
The fourth teen was found 2km further up the river. He was suffering from hypothermia and low blood sugar and was taken to Wellington Hospital for treatment.
