Now Fred's son, Cam Hollows is in Vietnam volunteering his medical skills to help the blind

New Zealander Fred Hollows gave the gift of sight to millions of people, curing the blind and teaching others how to carry on his work.

Now, his son Cam is following in his father’s footsteps.

When Fred Hollows died 18-years-ago, his family vowed to honour his legacy, setting up eye clinics around the world.

Now Fred's son, Cam Hollows, a third-year medical student, is in Vietnam where he's volunteering his medical skills to help the blind in the place that his father fell in love with many years ago.

60 Minutes reporter, Ray Martin who was a good friend of Fred’s, spends some time with Cam in Vietnam, and he reckons the old man would be mighty proud.
