A Wellington man believed to be in his forties has died while free diving with a group of five friends on the Kapiti Coast.
The man, understood to be an experienced diver, was found on the seabed by a friend after failing to resurface following some spear fishing.
All attempts to revive the man failed and the cause of his death is still unclear.
