Money saving guru Lyn Webster featured on Campbell Live earlier in the year when she cut her family’s grocery bill to $100 a week, now she’s back helping other Kiwis towards financial bliss.

Ms Webster revealed her home recipes for cleaning products at the start of the year and since then has received so many calls from viewers, that she started up her own business and gives talks around the country on how to reduce spending.

The so called “queen of thrift” has also improved on her own weekly quota, reducing her family’s grocery spending to $75 dollars a week.

“Because we've been making the home made cleaning products $100 was too easy and I was actually starting to throw food away again,” she says.

“So I decided to cut it back to $75 and make it more challenging,” she says.

Ms Webster says business is booming ever since she showed the nation how to cut down on weekly expenses.

“I've got franchises with people buying them, I've got sign-writing on my car, I've got a website and I've got people emailing me everyday wanting to find out about this concept I've come up with - It's fantastic really,” she says.

Ms Webster’s saving knowledge is being passed around the country, with people buying the rights to her franchise.

“I really think that this knowledge is a cool thing to get out all over New Zealand,” she says.

“So if I can teach someone the recipes and they can teach their communities I reckon that's great.”

I love it. The e-mail reflects what I often answer when asked what I'd like for a meal. Then people would look at me sideways. Some of us have to resort with pleasure to olden habbits. Salt in lieu of tooth paste, white viengar and water to wash the windows with, etc because of allergies. The fact that they all cost so much less it the bonus. I also urge you to look out these 'hints' and use them.
