In 2007 Ma’a Nonu thought he had the rugby world at his feet, sure he would play at that year’s World Cup.
“I thought I was in the team,” he says.
Only, he wasn’t. The closest Nonu got to France was two tests off the bench against them in Auckland and Wellington, before he was dumped – not seen again that year in a black jersey.
Now, Nonu is looking at his 10th year as an All Black.
He talks to Jim Kayes about the year ahead.
