Amanda Palmer divides her music into two categories - really poppy songs she used to be ashamed of and the woe is me, pain and agony songs she uses to exercise her personal demons.
Palmer is one half of American punk cabaret duo The Dresden Dolls.
After some ferocious touring, which lead to band burnout, the Dolls decided on a short break so Palmer's taking her solo album on tour.
