Lady Gaga fans braved the wind and rain outside an Auckland hotel today for a chance to meet the pop star.
The singer arrived in Auckland this morning, and met fans outside the Stamford Plaza Hotel.
Around 80 fans gathered outside, braving the wind and rain conditions.
Gaga, dressed in a bright orange dress with white gloves and sunglasses, greeted the screaming fans, touching their hands and talking to them for about five minutes, before retreating into the hotel.
Fan Kieran Slee, 18, was overwhelmed at getting to meet his idol.
“I think I wasn’t breathing for the majority of that, it was amazing and I got to touch her hand. She was wearing gloves so I reached and grabbed her arm instead so I could touch her skin.
“It was amazing, so good.”
He says he loves the star.
“I just think she’s amazing, really inspirational and original. She’s better than Madonna.”
Twenty-year-old fan Danielle Allan has tickets to all three of Lady Gaga’s New Zealand concerts and Lady Gaga came and signed her record outside the hotel.
“I’m the biggest fan of Gaga ever and I love her so much,” she said.
Ms Allan has made a jacket to wear to the concert.
Salote Finau was also excited to see the star and wondered what she would be wearing.
“She’s like an international celebrity in New Zealand. She’s inspiring she’s different.”
Lady Gaga will perform for three concerts at Vector Arena as part of her Born This Way Ball world tour.
Her Thursday and Friday shows were sold out but there has been a last minute release of extra tickets for the shows, and tickets are still available for Sunday.
The tour consists of 110 shows in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America and North America, finishing in March 2013.
Lady Gaga was forced to cancel a concert in Indonesia after Islamic groups objected to the show.
