Police have raided the home of Black Power gang's local president after a gun was spotted on the Dunedin property.
Gang member Albert Epere's residence in Pine Hill was swooped on by police on Thursday afternoon, forcing the local school into lockdown and stopping traffic for about two hours.
Police cleared the premises and searched the 18 occupants.
No firearms were found, but a number of knives and axes were seized before the cordon was lifted after about two hours.
Mr Epere was shot in the arm on Sunday during a confrontation with rival gang the Mongrel Mob, who were gathered at another house around the corner.
He was due to appear in the heavily guarded Dunedin District Court on Thursday afternoon but was granted bail without appearing, Radio New Zealand report.
Mr Epere and the five other people from both gangs who have been arrested so far have all been bailed to separate houses in the city under a 24-hour curfew.
The search is still on for 19-year-old gang member, Dylan Jordon Hill, in relation to Sunday's shooting.
Hill is described as being of medium build with black hair, approximately 174cm tall with a distinctive bulldog tattoo on the left side of his face.
Police say he could still be in Dunedin and is considered dangerous and shouldn't be confronted.
