Six Mongrel Mob members jailed earlier this year for participating in an organised criminal group have had their convictions quashed.
The Court of Appeal on Thursday ordered a retrial for the six who were found guilty in November last year in the High Court in Wellington over charges relating to an internal conflict within the Wairoa chapter of gang.
It culminated in a shootout outside the gang pad in August 2010.
Rangi Tamati, Ronald Rigby, Claude Edwards, Sovite Su'a, Harry Minhinnick and Alex Tamati had been sentenced in February to between six years, three months in prison and three years in prison.
Rangi Tamati's appeal against his conviction for attempting to pervert the course of justice was dismissed.
