Reds’ halfback Will Genia has been named Australia's Super Rugby Player of the Year, leading a Reds sweep of the top awards.
Genia won the award by a point from teammate Scott Higginbotham, Western Force captain David Pocock and ACT Brumbies first-five Christian Leali'ifano.
Points are awarded throughout the season to the three players judged best on the field in each match involving Australian teams. Genia clinched the award when he picked up three points for his performance in Queensland's playoffs match against the Sharks last week.
The Reds were named Team of the Year, despite losing their Super Rugby title, and Ewen McKenzie won the Coach of the Year award for a record fifth time.
