Activist George Clooney jetted to Australia at the weekend to lecture citizens and officials about the continued need for satellite cameras in Sudan.
The Ocean's Eleven star has long campaigned for lasting peace in the war-torn African nation and Clooney put his thoughts into motion on Monday by addressing a crowd at Sydney's Leadership Convention in a bid to rally support for using potentially-controversial technology to catch the world's war criminals and hold them responsible for their actions.
According to The Herald Sun, he said, "What I am trying to do is continue to keep a satellite, that we've been using to monitor war criminals, on the border between the south and the north of Sudan."
Also attending the conference were music mogul Russell Simmons and US lifestyle queen Martha Stewart.
This isn't Clooney's first big humanitarian gesture - the star founded the advocacy organisation Not On Our Watch with fellow actors Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle to provide aid to innocent civilians in places of international crises such as in Darfur, Burma and Zimbabwe.
