In South Africa, Spain's Pablo Martin's lead at the South African Open has been cut to a single shot ahead of the final round at the Pearl Valley Golf Estates in Paarl.

Martin carded an even par 72 and is 11 under, a stroke ahead of Italy's Edoardo Molinari.

In almost perfect conditions South Africa's James Kingston holed four birdies to move into a tie for third, at nine-under par, at the tournament he won two years ago.

He is tied with Sweden's Fredrik Andersson who, having reclaimed his tour card this season, is well placed to secure his first win on the European Tour.

Standing in his way is Edoardo Molinari, who moved into second with his 69, and the overnight leader, Pablo Martin, who will be hoping for even more luck, and direction, in the final round.

His tee shot was headed for the water until it bounced off a rock and into the middle of the green at the 12th.

Martin birdied the hole and went on to finish at even par as he chases back-to-back victories on the European Tour.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's Alex Korolev was also lucky when he walked away from an awkward landing at the second Fis Ski Jump World Cup event in Engleberg.

Though it looked bad, Korolev was okay, allowing the event to continue with day one winner Simon Amman finishing second by just a point, with Austrian teenager Gregor Schlierenzauer the eventual winner.

Wile the United States had a comfortable win against Europe in the duel in the pool in Manchester; Olympic Champion Michael Phelps was upset in the 200m butterfly by Britain's Michael Rock.
