A giant machine used in the demolition of London's historic Wembley Stadium will help pull down a Christchurch bank badly damaged in February's deadly earthquake.
The German-built excavator, called "Goliath", will begin work on the demolition of the BNZ building in Cathedral Square in the coming weeks.
The 130-tonne machine has a reach of 35 metres and was used to take down the twin towers of the iconic London stadium in 2002.
Work on levelling the BNZ building began this week and is due to be completed by July 9.
