Greenpeace expects thousands of people will this morning flock to Auckland's CBD to protest the government's proposal to open up conservation land to mining.

The march aims to highlight widespread anger over the proposals to open up the very best of the country's conservation land.

Greenpeace Executive Director Bunny McDiarmid says the government has underestimated the numbers against the proposals.

And she says today's turn out will represent people from all walks of life.

The march will kick off from the bottom of Queen Street at 11am.

WEALTH! wealth for whom? certainly will not be for the poor and struggling, the national party is full of Sh*T.

What we have to understand is these nat idiots do not care about our country or it`s people or it would not be doing these despicable acts of destruction.

Just look at the American coast with the uncapped undersea oil leak, it`ll take a century or more for the coastline and waterways to repair if ever,,,and remember we have rigs drilling off the shores of Taranaki,,ALL FOR WEALTH,,GREED!

Chuck the NATS out NOW

What is wealth when our country is destroyed and the world?? Nothing! Can wealth save you from global warming? Can it save you from the direct results of harm done to the environment by humans? No! Look what has happened to the world...do we want to be heading down that path and cause more long term damage? If you want to ensure your children have a good future, mining is not going to help. One day there will be no natural area's for children to even play, no clean air to breath, and no tree's left. Is that what you want? Just a few more...no harm aye? Well that's what they all said years ago, and loks what's happening. New Zealand...we have more tree's and parks than many countries, lets keep it that way.

I totally support the sustainable development of Energy and Resources in New Zealand, managed properly it would provide wealth for the entire population.

I totally support mining in our country. Let's dig up our mineral treasures and lift our standard of living by reducing the national debt for ourselves and our children.
