The Green Party has released a list of portfolio allocations for its new caucus of 14 MPs – the most the party has ever had.

The party’s co-leaders Metiria Turei and Russel Norman still maintain overall responsibility for issues relating to society and justice, Maori affairs, economics and the environment.

Gareth Hughes becomes the new party whip, taking over from Kennedy Graham who picks up the foreign portfolio.

New MP and former transport consultant Julie-Anne Genter picks up the transport portfolio and former Auckland councillor and long-time workers’ rights advocate Denise Roche is in charge of the industrial relations portfolio.

Sacked Environment Canterbury (ECan) councillor Eugenie Sage takes on the local government portfolio, Christchurch issues, conservation and water issues –  water management is one of the reasons the Government sacked her and the entire ECan council.

Mojo Mathers, who will be Parliament’s first profoundly deaf MP, focuses on a number of portfolios, including disability issues.

in response to John,

damage!? compassion , green intiatives for the 21st century and policies to benefit people are probably alien concepts to the likes of you , lets look at all the damage the Nats have done and will do to this country .
Its all about money for them and the wealthy at the expense of our once pristine enviroment as well as some good old fashioned benefit bashing.
The greens have grown they realise economic growth is important but in a sustainable way , they can only grow now!
