Greg Murphy will have a second operation for a back injury arising from a crash in March, ruling him out of all motor-racing until late September.
New Zealander Greg Murphy will be out of all motor-racing for the next three months after needing further back surgery.
The operation in Melbourne next week will be his second since his crash in Sunday qualifying at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide in March.
Murphy says the problem disc in his back has continued to rupture and he has been in a fair amount of pain this week.
However, he expects to be back to 100 per cent by late September.
The operation is likely to force him out of four rounds of the V8 Supercars Championship, as well as the opening endurance round of the V8 Supertourers Championship in New Zealand.
