Music and events magazine Groove Guide, thought doomed, has found a buyer and will be back on the streets next month.

Tangible Media announced the freebie magazine's closure on Monday, saying it was struggling to find a viable financial model after merging with Real Groove, a monthly magazine, in November last year.

"After trying lots of things including a relaunch… we cannot justify its continued losses and have decided to close the magazine from this week onwards," publisher Vincent Heeringa said.

But on Tuesday, Mr Heeringa said there was a "better than 50-50" chance he'd found a buyer.

According to reports today on local music blogs The Corner and Under The Radar, it has been purchased by Grant Hislop, director of programming at Juice TV.

Mr Hislop has previously worked at Channel Z, Warner Music and The Rock.

Under The Radar reports the next issue will be out on June 8. Marketing blog StopPress says details are "sketchy".
