Police concern is growing for a man who went missing from Kenepuru Hospital, Porirua, on Wednesday morning.

26-year-old William Campbell was last seen in the hospital grounds around 9am. A police search that afternoon and evening failed to find him.

Detective Sergeant Steve Dunn says one of their lines of enquiry is that Mr Campbell is on his way to Auckland. However, he requires daily medication which police do not believe he has with him.

Police do not believe he has much money on him so he may be taking shelter in public buildings or charitable housing facilities.

His parents, Don and Liz Campbell, are deeply concerned and are assisting police with their enquiries.

If anyone has any information they should contact the Porirua Police Station.
