A small shower of hail and sleet has fallen in Wellington this morning.
The short burst occurred around 9:20 this morning and resulted in two minor crashes and cars losing traction on road’s in the capital.
3 News iWitness Samantha Ives sent in a photo of a car in Newtown which she says had lost traction and become stuck.
Police have confirmed two minor crashes on the Wellington Urban Motorway between Thorndon and Aotea Quay.
The cars are now off to the side of the road and not blocking traffic and there have been no reports of injuries.
Motorists are asked to use dipped headlights and drive to the conditions.
