Campaigners for a regular rail commuter-link between Hamilton and Auckland are not letting local opposition derail the plan.
Hamilton National MPs David Bennett and Tim MacIndoe are fighting the proposal to resurrect the KiwiRail route, because they think an expressway is a more economically viable option.
But the Campaign for Better Transport's Jon Reeves says they've got research that found 84 percent of ratepayers support bringing back the service, even though it was dumped 10 years ago.
