Michael Caine as Harry Brown

Michael Caine as Harry Brown

Reviewed by Kate Rodger

Any film with Sir Michael Caine is worth the ticket price and while Harry Brown is no Get Carter, there may be enough here for fans.

Caine is the titular Brown, a pensioner living on a South London estate overrun by meth-smoking gangs.

When the gangs go a step too far, Brown decides their reign must end.

Harry Brown is a violent little film, and this young director shows signs of better things to come, but the story played out in too contrived a manner to be a complete success for me.

Still, a worthy three star watch.
