The cast of the Harry Potter movies considered marking the end of the franchise with matching tattoos of the wizard's lightning scar, but they backed out of the plan, according to actor Rupert Grint.

The British star, who plays Ron Weasley in the series, has revealed many of the young actors discussed inking a permanent reminder of the films, but although Grint was keen to mark the end of the franchise with the body art, the others decided against it.

He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "There was talk between us about doing something like a tattoo. It would have been something subtle like Harry’s lightning scar. It would’ve been a great way of marking the end of filming."

Earlier this year, Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the films, revealed she also wanted to find a way to commemorate the end of filming, but ruled out getting a tattoo.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has been named the richest British star under the age of 30, ahead of Robert Pattinson and Keira Knightley.

Radcliffe's £51.7 million fortune has landed him at the top of the rundown compiled by UK magazine Heat

The 22-year-old's earnings put him above second-placed star Knightley, who at 26 has amassed £30.8 million, while 25-year-old Twilight favourite Pattinson came in third with £24.9 million.

Radcliffe's Potter co-stars Emma Watson (£23.9 million) and Rupert Grint (£21.7 million) rounded out the top five respectively.

Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole and Charlotte Church were also named in the top 10 rich list.
