Have gaffes given sceptics the ammo to undermine climate change theories? - Video

I know standards have been slipping for a while, but I think this may be the biggest load of one-sided tripe I've ever seen on TV3.

As usual, I've been following this in other media ('cos our own are so woeful), and the issue is not just a 'typo' - it's the use of un-scientific sources (such as WWF - they made the typo - IPCC just copied it) when it suits the IPCC to do so. Also that 'one small mistake' sure got a LOT of media attention at the time, and has been used to solicit funding for Dr Pachauri's institute TERI (making it quite a costly one).

And the main drive does not appear to me to be coming from Big Oil in the US, but actually from investigative journalists in the UK press. Imagine that - journalists actually investigating!

These errors in the IPCC report may not completely undermine the actual science of climate change, but let's at least try to report them accurately. Some of your audience may have more intelligence than you're crediting them with...
