The Wollongong Hawks ended their pre-season tour on a high note with a 90-84 defeat of the New Zealand Breakers in Hamilton on Saturday.

Wollongong won their mini-series against the Australian National Basketball defending champions 2-1 following a victory in Dunedin on Thursday.

A Breakers side without recuperating stars Thomas Abercrombie and CJ Bruton led 71-66 going into the final quarter but accurate, late three-point shooting from Hawks guard Lance Hurdle helped push his team clear.

Hurdle finished with 21 points while guard Cedric Jackson scored 16 for the Breakers.
