The man charged with killing Christchurch teenager
Hayden Miles has been deemed fit to enter a plea after undergoing a
psychiatric assessment.
Gavin John Gosnell, 27, who is unemployed,
has been charged with murdering 15-year-old Hayden, who disappeared on
August 22 last year.
Gosnell's lawyer Craig Ruane told Judge Paul
Kellar in the Christchurch District Court that there were no issues
arising from the psychiatric report, the Christchurch Court News website
reported.
Mr Ruane said Gosnell was going to defend the murder charge.
Gosnell was remanded in custody until a post-committal conference on March 23.
Police discovered Hayden's remains in a Christchurch cemetery in December.
An
18-year-old woman has also been charged with actively helping a man
avoid arrest and a 35-year-old Parklands man has been charged with
stealing a cask of wine, mobile phone and iPod from Hayden the day
police say he was murdered.
