The man charged with killing Christchurch teenager Hayden Miles will appear in court today after undergoing psychiatric assessment.

Gavin John Gosnell, 27, who is unemployed, has been charged with murdering 15-year-old Hayden, who disappeared on August 22 last year.

The psychiatric report was ordered before Christmas but was not ready in time for his January appearance.

A post-committal conference has been scheduled for March 23.

Police discovered Hayden's remains in a Christchurch cemetery in December.

An 18-year-old woman has also been charged with actively helping a man avoid arrest and a 35-year-old Parklands man has been charged with stealing a cask of wine, mobile phone and iPod from Hayden the day police say he was murdered.
